M/C Partners' Gillis Cashman to Participate In Multiple Panels at COMPTEL PLUS Fall 2011 Convention & EXPO
Cashman to Discuss Managing Network Growth and Fiber Sector Evolution
BOSTON, MA – October 3, 1011 – M/C Partners, a leading investor in communications services, today announced that Gillis Cashman, Managing Partner, will moderate a panel titled “Managing Network Growth: Meeting Demands and Expectations” and participate in a panel titled “Fiber: A Sector Evolves” at the COMPTEL PLUS Fall 2011 Convention & EXPO, October 2-5, 2011, at the Gaylord Palms Hotel and Convention Center in Orlando.
In “Fiber: A Sector Evolves,” Cashman will be speaking on the evolution of the fiber sector, alternative strategic approaches, the impact of industry consolidation and what the future holds. The session will be held Monday, October 3, 2011 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.
In addition, Cashman will serve as moderator for the “Managing Network Growth: Meeting Demands and Expectations” session, which will be held on Tuesday, October 4, from 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. Participants in this session will discuss how companies can lower the cost of infrastructure investments and generate new revenue by optimizing over the top (OTT) technologies. They’ll provide insight into how organizations can customize their company’s network infrastructure and, through packet networking, achieve profitability and meet performance expectations.
Prior to joining M/C Partners in 1999, Cashman was with Salomon Smith Barney in the Global Telecommunications Corporate Finance Group, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions in the wireline and wireless segments of the telecommunications industry. At M/C Partners, he is focused on the wireline broadband infrastructure and services portion of the firm’s portfolio. Cashman is currently Chairman of Baja Broadband and serves on the Board of Directors of Zayo Group, CSDVRS, Corelink Data Centers, PlumChoice and has an observer Board of Directors seat at GTS Central Europe. His previous board seats include MCCC ICG Holdings (sold to Level 3), Cavalier Telephone (sold to PAETEC),City Signal Communications (sold to Cavalier Telephone), Elantic Networks (merged with Cavalier Telephone), FDN Networks (merged with NuVox Communications). He also previously held an observer Board of Director seat at NuVox Communications (sold to WindStream) and Telution (sold to CSG). Mr. Cashman graduated cum laude from Duke University receiving an AB in economics with distinction.
