Melita
Melita is the leading quad-play operator in Malta offering television, broadband, telephony and mobile services. Launched in 1991 as an analogue cable TV operator, it has since expanded its product offering to become a quadruple-play offering, servicing both residential and business customers, with the launch in February 2009 of its 3G mobile offering. Evolving from the traditional analogue and linear cable TV, Melita nowadays offers a hybrid IP-DVB TV service with HD channels, PVR services as well as Video-On-Demand and other interactive services. In June 2009, Melita also brought into operation a submarine cable linking Malta to Sicily, in order to supply international bandwidth direct to the company’s customers. Leveraging this international link together further investment in the latest cable technology Euro DOCSIS 3.0, Melita is now able to offer Internet download speeds of up to 100Mbps nationwide.
